We’re very excited to announce our chosen charity for this year as the Rainbow Ward at West Suffolk Hospital.
We have set ourselves the challenge of raising £12,000 to buy four portable cardiac scanners for the ward by the end of the year. Adrian, our MD, is very keen on giving something back to the community which has helped him grow his business over the last 14 years. All the staff were asked for their input into which charity we should support and Adrian was keen for it to be local so staff and customers would have the chance to see the impact which their efforts have made. A few of us met with some of the wonderful staff on the ward last week and Dawn Dorrington, the Ward Manager was explaining the difference which the portable scanners will make. Currently when there is a young patient on the ward who needs monitoring (heart rate, blood pressure or oxygen levels) they have to be moved to the High Dependency Unit on the ward but with portable monitors they can be monitored in their hospital bed or even if they are in-transit between hospitals. Call us for details on how you can help us. Our first event is a year long walk and our question is “Would you walk to the end of the world to save a child’s life?”
