Turn your house into a home with a Victorian Orangery from Frames Conservatories Direct.

Frames Conservatories Direct offers a range of solid but stunning orangery. With so many different looks and styles, you will be sure to find the perfect Victorian orangery to suit your property.

Planning and designing the right type of structure and transforming the way you use your home is one of our biggest passions.

We founded our company on the belief that we offer the highest standards in the industry. From initial enquiry right through to the finish, we ensure our customers remain content with every aspect of our service.

Everything from our level of craftmanship and communication to keeping on schedule and working without causing any inconvenience is designed to make sure you enjoy a zero-hassle experience with us.

Victorian orangeries are a classic design. The bow front and pitched roof lends a quintessentially English feel to a garden room and is one of our most popular designs.

Orangeries differ slightly to the more common conservatory with the involvement of more structural support. While conservatories are mainly glass structures, orangeries can be a mixture of glazing, wooden panels, brick supports and sometimes, a covered roof.

This type of structure blends in a lot more with the existing house, looking often like a regular extension – but with a slight twist. Orangeries are a brilliantly exciting way to add an extra room to your home. There is more choice and variety with your orangery, and while structurally different, can still borrow accents from the traditional conservatory plan.

Victorian design is generally more ornate and decorative than later styles. We can adopt similar flourishes to your Victorian orangery with our huge range of decorative glass, finials, cresting and glazing. However, if you prefer a slightly more subtle approach, our design consultants are on hand to help you strike the right balance.

With any type of glass structure, there are features that need some consideration. In particular:

Frames – We supply our orangeries in UPVC, timber, timber effect and aluminium. Each material has many benefits”
UPVC is economical, low-maintenance and extremely robust.
Timber has stunning features and can be built to create a very strong, beautiful structure.
A timber effect orangery has all the benefits of wood, with the added resilience and maintenance-free advantages.
An aluminium orangery is chic, elegant and extremely versatile.

Ventilation – A good ventilation system is necessary for all round use. During winter, ventilation can stop the build-up of condensation and damp. During the warmer months, it helps create a comfortable living space.

Lighting – With this kind of structure, you are spoilt with the amount of light available. However, whether you choose a covered roof to your Victorian orangery or not, some good quality lighting and low lighting will create spectacular effects in the evening.

Temperature Control – Wondering how to get a perfectly comfortable orangery in the cold months of January all the way through to the highs of August? A good temperature control system is all that’s needed. For something so vital, we recommend investing in a good quality system that will go the distance.

Adding an orangery is not only an investment but, if done well, a valuable asset. We want to be completely sure that what we build exceeds your expectations.

A. Fensa is a Competent Persons Scheme. When replacing windows, doors and roof lights in dwellings in England and Wales, homeowners must comply with current thermal performance and Building Regulation standards and ensure they get a certificate from a Competent Person scheme or Local Authority Building Control. Fensa is one of those schemes. We belong to the 'Assure' Competent Person’s Scheme, it allows us to fully comply with the registration process and it affords our customers the security of knowing that their installer of choice has the ability to do the job correctly and to the correct standards. The 'Assure' team regularily inspect our work and ensure our installation teams are fully compliant, trained and able to do the job.

A. Our sales team do not employ high pressure sales tactics. There is no phone calls to managers, no 50% off discounts for a signature today. Just straight talking, straight forward advice.

A. Windows & Doors – generally you do not require planning permission unless you are significantly changing the appearance of the house with the new installation. The exception would be if you are installing a bay window where there wasn’t one previously or if you live in a listed building or a conservation area.

Extensions and Conservatories – as long as you meet certain criteria regarding height, position relative to the house and land area, an extension or conservatory is generally considered permitted development not requiring planning permission. You will, however, need Building Control for a glazed extension or to put a solid roof on to an existing conservatory.

Driveways and Patios – you don’t need planning permission

Garden Walls – you only need planning permission if the wall is over 2 meters high or 1 meter high if it will be adjacent to a public footpath or highway. You would also need planning permission if either your property or the neighbouring property which the wall would provide a boundary with, is a listed building.

Don’t be put off by the Building Control/Planning Permission maze – we will handle all of that for you.

A. No, our windows are manufactured to British Standards with a kite mark accreditation to prove it. The frames are steel reinforced and fitted with high security locking systems and hinge side protectors, these fittings are standard on our windows.

A. NO, we insist on it, all our windows fitted where a means of escape should be considered are fitted with Fire Egress hinges as standard.

A. We supply 3 keys with every door lock. The locks are ultra-high security. Additional keys can be sought afterwards if needed, from specified locksmiths.

A. There isn’t one! Each conservatory is designed for you individually. It will be made to the size and the design that suits you.

A. Generally all our products are covered by a fully transferable 10 year fully inclusive guarantee for your complete peace of mind.

A. No, each job is appraised and if we can use our own specialist easy deck system we will not need to have scaffolding erected. We do not make any charge if we use our own standard access equipment as we believe it is part of the job. On average we have to scaffold approx. 1 in 15 jobs.

A. Yes, there is a specialist coating on the surface of the glass that reacts with day light, this reaction prevents anything from sticking to the glass surface and when it rains any deposit is washed off.

A. NONE, we have never taken a deposit, we don’t believe a customer should fund our business before we have actually done something for you.

A. When you are ready to get your home improvement project quoted – simply give us a call on 0800 2 800 472. One of our Sales Consultants will visit you at home to take accurate measurements and talk to you about the options available. We will provide you with a free, no obligation quote. There is no pressure, no hard sell and no discounting techniques.
